Hi, I'm Atty, founder of She Techs.<\/strong><\/h2>

I've worked 'in tech' for many years. My first software role was with a female senior and a female supervisor. And me. Did I notice? That we were all female? Not particularly; I was there to learn and they were great at teaching me and letting me make mistakes.<\/p>

I had never seen myself as a 'woman in tech' until a few years ago when I was recording a video for the company I worked for, a large tech consultancy.

'As a female in tech ... ', I began, feeling sure this was a large part of why I was there... then stopped. ' I don't really.... that doesn't feel like me. I wouldn't ever say that,' I said. So, we carried on. I can't remember what I said. I'm sure it was fine - they put it on the website.<\/p>

But let's face it - the ridiculously low levels of representation in tech by women, people from different cultural backgrounds and underserved communities are well-documented. There are some brilliant and innovative initiatives to promote and serve women, girls, people who identify as other than non-binary and many underrepresented groups of people.<\/p>

We are currently curating a list of these initiatives, which include boot camps, masterclasses, tech community events, support groups and more and will let you know when it's ready.<\/em><\/p>

My desire is for She Techs to provide t-shirts, hoodies, bags and stickers for women who work or play with technology, in whatever form, to express their techiness (or non-techiness!) in a way that feels real to them, whether that's with humour, subtlety or defiance.<\/strong><\/p>

I also aim to extend the brand to include representation of other underrepresented qualities backgrounds and experiences.<\/p>
